Am I guessing right that there is no way to purchase the rights to the current cover art. It would appear to me it would have no value to R***n in the future. If it were me I would prefer to get something for it. Then this may be more about vindictiveness then common since.
You’re correct, John. It was spelled out clearly in the agreement. It’s the stick part of “carrot-and-stick”
And without a complete set, they’re worthless to me.

I re-read the pertinent documentation and yes, it turns out that I could possibly purchase said artwork.
But without the whole set?
Not worth it.
Anything that says you can’t privately commission the original artist to do cover art for the last two? Question of cost vs. worth I guess…
I believe Michael Sullivan – the publisher – did the artwork. So getting him to do the covers would be … touchy.
