I’m sorry to hear that htmldoc makes the tags uppercase, but happy to hear that you regrouped. I wonder if I could write a bash script that would go through and cut the pages on a certain tag indicating a new chapter. That would be an exercise for me who is not that good with that sort of thing, but wants to be. This wouldn’t change the text at all, just chop it off into a new file and give it the next number followed by .html for the file name. I probably could do that about the time you publish Owner’s Share. 🙂
I just finished the 7th of 8 weeks of a python course. I almost gave up several times. I’m so proud of my little spaceship that moves around and shoots missiles. LOL. They provided a LOT of code and it still almost knocked me out trying to get it going. But I want so much to learn to do some useful bash scripting with some of the neat utilities in Linux. Sigh.
I’m glad to hear that you’re getting things done again. 🙂
A possible solution for your XHTML problems would be HTML Tidy, which will convert those tags for you back to lowercase. It’s at least worth a test, and last I checked, was available in the Debian/Ubuntu repositories.
I never let a typo throw me off track while reading your stories. If I notice one, I may send a report when I re-read the story, but the first time through, I’m too involved to stop for something so trivial as a typo.
I’m looking forward to seeing the new versions of the Solar Clipper stories.
