1) The problem with actually thinking the future through and extrapolating the tech of the future is… you just can’t reasonably do it more than at best a decade out, if *THAT*! Soon, we see a world where replicators (though not yet the Star Trek style) are common – and anyone needing a new one just asks their neighbor to run one off for them, as it’s not much of a replicator if it can’t replicate itself. Maybe we’ll figure out a way to exceed the speed of light, maybe we won’t. Maybe we’ll figure out antigravity, maybe we won’t. But the xenon writing was on the copper wall in the late 80s when IBM spelled out its logo using an atomic-force microscope. The replicator *is* coming, and it means essentially perfect recycling, and essentially infinite goods. It changes *EVERYTHING*, and our grandest dreams will be feeblest imaginings that do *NOT* get it right – won’t even get it close.
2) You really need to watch your caffeine level, Sar. Too much blood in the caffeine stream just causes all kinds of issues.
Oh, *WOW*! I didn’t realize just how close you were on the map to Balticon! Almost 1,600 miles you’ve walked after today.
