I’m pretty sure that haze around everything here is smoke. I didn’t see any clouds overhead, just a very hazy blue. I talked about Kickstarter and Patreon a little today but mostly I just dodged cars and dog-walkers.

I know an author who uses her Patreon less as a regular subscription but more as a series of irregularly scheduled one-offs. Specifically, she has a number of series that are in KU, but her fanbase includes some non-Kindle folks from when she was wide. So, in the week before she launches in KU, she releases it as an EPUB to her Patreon list for a one-off charge of whatever the book costs ($5ish), using some other ebook deliver service whose name escapes me at the moment. Since it’s just the one week before KU launch, it lets her serve both audiences w/o violating the exclusivity rules, and using Patreon to handle the money end of it.
I can see where that would work.
I’m not exactly seeing the benefit of having “one more thing to do” 😀
