Later today, the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences will release my short story contribution to their Tales from the Archive anthology. I’m pretty excited to have this come out. It was a good exercise for me to do a short story (7,000 words) and I got to play in the Books and Braun universe. This morning they’re releasing the official trailer, but a little kiwi from the Archives assures me that the story will be along this afternoon.

Hey Nate,
Got a recipe for your ramen lovers. My wife came up with this either in the dorms or as an alternate on busy nights at the apartment during her last year in school. (if I’m remembering right)
Take the ramen noodles, set flavor packet aside.
Cook noodles as usual.
Drain noodles.
Add sour cream and flavor packet to noodles.
Mix.
this results in an interesting creaming noodle thing.
you can add water to thin out the sauce too.
I can’t get them to eat them *any* other way but boiled in the salt packets. I have no idea why they like them like that but they get huffy if I even suggest throwing in a few hunks of cooked chicken or (heaven forfend) a bit of vegetable.
Kids. They’re funny little people, alright.

I am really enjoying hearing your free form thoughts like this. Granted I generally listen a day behind (podcast sync in the evening for the next workday’s listening) but it is all fascinating.
