New microphone is clearer and louder. In the past I’ve had to turn up the volume daily to really hear what you’re saying, today I didn’t have to. There were some pops and crackles at the beginning that had mostly stopped by the end of the walk.
Amusingly, you said “snot really” twice at 14:17, which made me laugh.
Diito on the new mic being crisper, but I found the popping to be really bad. More than anything, it sounds like a loose connection.
Sounds that way to me, too, but it has to be something in the mic itself. Everything is plugged in solid.

It wants to be plugged into an Apple Lightning cable although it claims to be compatible with any 3.5mm jack.
Take a listen to Dave’s North Pond Monologues … Do you hear the same artifacts there?
