Sar I think you need to start pushing the walk to a later time in the day say either before or after lunch or start doing the podcast via the walking desk.

    • Nathan says:

Yeah. It’s nearly 10am here now and still single digits.

Treadmill needs me to WRITE on it, not talk on it. Not sure what’ll happen next.

      • Patrick Phillips says:

Not if you do your early morning walk on the treadmill / podcast and do your regular write/walk in the afternoon ….:)

Going out in that would be craziness. If you still want to do the outdoor walk, then maybe you can put a temperature limit on it or something like that. This will keep you honest.

And the podcast–in my mind it is all about what is helpful to you. The folks who are listening to this are going to have you in sight on other venues. Now that you are doing the treadmill writing, you are getting that walking you need for your health. This podcast may have served its purpose.

I do notice that you do seem to get some thinking done in the process of talking; so maybe there is an alternative to provide that function.

My two cents worth: as a born-and-bred Southerner, I know that man is not meant to go outside when the temperature falls below 20 degrees F, except to dash to the car, maybe.
Stay in, walk on the treadmill, stay well, and write!
We can all check in at NL.org to see how things are progressing. Maybe next Spring you can hit the highways and byways again.

yeah, I agree. -Anything is too d— cold to be doing a long walk in.

You don’t play around with cold temps. if that was the real temp I don’t want to think what the wind was doing to it.

As has been discussed before, while we enjoy hearing your thoughts the walk is mostly for you as a ‘Morning Pages’ as well as your health. Pushing it in the cold isn’t going to be good for the second.

I hope you are feeling better anyway.
