Which is kind of odd how certain words get taken over by certain movies. “Quick” originally meant alive – and related to the moment when a woman can first feel her child move in her womb. From this we end up with quicksilver – mercury that is “alive” silver because it moves around, and quicklime – “alive” because it heats up rapidly in contact with water.
