Giving Thanks

Yes, I’m early on this but I want you all to know how thankful I am right now.
1. I’m cancer free. I’m really thankful that this wasn’t a death sentence and that we caught it early enough that – even with the delays in treatment – I’ll probably survive both the disease and the treatment.
2. I’m eating more/different foods. I really wanted to eat Thanksgiving dinner. It’s looking like I’ll get my wish.
3. While I’m still very weak with almost no fat and very little muscle mass, I’m thankful that I’m still mobile enough that I can rebuild both of those characteristics to a healthy level.
4. Not least, I’m thankful for each of you. Your kind wishes and unflagging support have meant the world.

So, thanks. You’re all much appreciated.

Real Food

Two days in a row now, I’ve only taken sustenance from real food.

I want to eat a real Thanksgiving dinner. It’s going to be a stretch 🙂

No Disease Observed

The post-treatment scan happened last week and I got the news from the oncologist a few minutes ago.

While there are a couple of issues to look at (inflammation in the throat and esophagus), the scan did not show any residual or additional disease.

Now, I just need to recover from the treatment.
