Re: origin stories. There’s two of these I really want to read. One is the Toehold populated by Jesuits – – can’t recall the name offhand. The other is Zazi, which received a single mention in *Owner’s Share* as a prison of some kind – – it’s not specified if it’s a planet, city, or orbital. In an entire galaxy worth of criminals, what would Zazi be? I picture the penal colonies of old – – Australia, French Guiana (Devil’s Island), and even the British Antilles/America, which received their share of convict labor. The worst fate, perhaps, would be to be dropped onto a savage planet via an escape module, with only enough food and water to survive for a month – – life (or death) according to the skill of the convict and the fortune/misfortune he experiences as a maroon.
Re: Wizard’s Cat. I did indeed listen, and I am immensely gratified that I was able to inspire your muse. Thank you very much for the shout-out.
