Loved your take on emailing list swaps. Definitely agree with you on that. I belong to some health blogs, and a lot of them seem to do this. It always strikes me as a sneaky way to work around their promise when you sign up that “we will never sell your email address to…” The emails still read as marketing or other people’s sites, products or books, though they always start with some kind of “my good friend so-and-so has this great (book, product, supplement, etc.) I think all the ones I used to subscribe to all belonged to the same group, as I’d get 10 different “my good friend…” emails from each one. Some became so egregious (more of those posts than actual newsletter emails), that I unsubscribed.
