You mentioned a song that didn’t want to join up with the rest of its album. I didn’t catch enough of the specifics, but I have seen that with certain things in the metadata, i.e. the MP3 tags. There is a field for Artist and a field for Album Artist. Frequently ripping software will leave Album Artist blank. Organizational software will then fall back on using the Artist tag. However, if you have that one track that maybe had a guest artist or partnership (like David Bowie on Queen’s Under Pressure), then the organizational software will see a different artist than the ones one the rest of the track and try to file it differently, perhaps as its own album.
So before I copy any music onto my Plex server, I use mp3tag to make sure the Album Artist is the same for every track in the album (like Queen’s Hot Space) has the same value (Queen, in that case).
