In this case the “a” stands for “ankle” – or perhaps arthritis.
My arthritis (ankylosing spondelitis) presents in the extremities and lower back. Stress exacerbates the symptoms. Like everybody else, I’ve been stressed for the last four years and it’s been cranked up to eleven for the last week. The repeated stressors have taken a toll.
The good news is that my rheumatologist has stepped up and my adjusted meds are helping, even if they’re not erasing the accumulated damage yet.
The bad news is that I’m still in considerable pain. My ankle decided that it wasn’t going to cooperate yesterday afternoon. Today’s slightly better but discretion, valor, all that.
Tomorrow’s another day – and a Monday – so with any luck at all … 🙂
