The advertising by Amazon about the Kindle makes *very* limited mention of the fact that the same ebooks can be read on other devices – in the mind of the general less-techy population, the Kindle device is the only thing that is really Kindle related. Few even realize that the Kindle device can have other formats loaded on it – if you don’t buy it from Amazon, you can’t use it on your Kindle e-reader.
So I have to suspect that many of your people are *hearing* “go buy the Kindle” (device) when you’re saying “go download the free Kindle app”.
Of course, how to get people to hear what’s actually said, and not what they somewhat expect to hear, is a completely different problem.
“Just another plod around the neighborhood.” Sounds like you might be getting bored of the route. Have you thought about plotting out some alternate routes you could take from time to time of the same length? Or does the area you live in preclude that?

Yeah. I think you’re right.
I added an explanation to the original assignment along with some links to the kindle download page.
Cool!

Just an uninspiring morning. They come around occasionally. 🙂
