Day 1022: Last Day On The Old Month

I pondered titles today.

Feel free to chime in on the comments.

And I’m still enjoying Princess of Wonders, mentioned yesterday. There’s something about it that keeps me coming back to it.

    Rising, Running, Returning works.

Too predictable to go nautical? Rising from the Depths? Not sure whether you can make the other titles work.

Maybe you tie “deep dark” into the submarines diving, surfacing.

You’ve heard enough out of me. Write on!

Haven’t listened to the pod cast yet. I like to savor it like a Christmas Gift. I want to hurry and get it open, but I make myself wait.

“Running Deep Dark” could allusion to several things regarding to the storyline. Mystery, a bit of a thriller. Pip, undercover, why is Ishmael entering the Deep Dark? What are the others purposes being there? Their various ship/battle skills. I still think sponge man #1 is an important person. His tears, when speaking to Ishmael while cleaning the spine area? Speaking so loving about his daughter being on a ship. He might be the one to give the whole thing away if not too careful.

Sorry, I told you I had my own idea of who I think he is. Maybe this should have went into email, instead of here. Hopefully the non-beta readers have no idea what I’m talking about.

  3. Jamie Wyrick says:

Sorry now I’m listening to the pod cast:

Rising Deep Darkness, they’ re getting ready.

Running Deep Dark would be suitable for book #2.

  4. Tony Dyer says:

“First Ship: A (New) Journey Begins” This is his first ship by choice. Can’t really count the forced purchase in Owner’s Share. Leaves the content open and not too much inferred or given away. First Ship …. (something) for second at least and is coherent with first six books.
No need to get literary with titles. It gets pretentious very quick. Only my opinion.

  5. Robert Evans says:

    Just throwing these out there:

    1. Annealed

    2. Hardened

    3. Tempered

  6. Robert Evans says:

    Or:

    1. Resurrection
    2. Transfiguration
    3. Ascension

    Just kidding. 😉

  7. Jen Keyes says:

I see why the alliteration and common ending of Rising, Running, Returning has a definite ring to it. My one thought to add to your pondering is “Flying into the Fire” for the second book since both the ship/crew are flying and the new company name fits with flying too.

  8. I like “Rise from Ashes”
What about just “Running Dark” for book two?
I’m not sure about Return from Fire…
Maybe “Lighthouse Revealed?” Not sure on that one.
