Perhaps the people on the “darkside,” or frontier, both honest and not, are trying to break the monolopy of the corporations that have been given the right to administer justice in the Western Annex. Not fully knowing the back story I am guessing that these corporations, in exchange for developing the worlds of the Western Annex have been given imprimatur and the “outcasts” are struggling to break this stranglehold on trade/mining. Perhaps this series could deal with the tension between the people who believe they have the legal high ground and those outsiders who are just trying to survive in a dangerous environment.
Well Gee! That’s pretty much what I was going to write. My idea is that the real dark side is the hidden politics of the public Golden Age, and the “Dark Side” is just the people stuck in the cracks trying to make an honest living the best way they know how.
