Seriously there is no reason to open to a shared world if you don’t want. It can be a good tool but I think it is more useful in a story world that doesn’t have as fixed backstory.
The only way I think a shared world would work for you in Golden Age is in conjunction with authors who are willing to work within your restrictions.

Fighter Queen was pretty ugly. I read it as a commentary on current conditions rather than an opportunistic telling.
