Day 107: Return to the Garden

I’ve finished reading Postman’s Technopoly and started on Hughes’ The Human-Built World. His main thrust is that the sum of human’s technological innovation can be summed up by “we’re trying to recreate the Garden of Eden.”

Yeah. I think he’s missing a few things — a few of his marbles, the odd brick, and the notion that by arbitrarily limiting his framing of the discussion, he’s directing the conclusion in advance. That rather diminishes his argument.

Your recommendation of peppercorns has seen me point my web-browser to go and purchase some of the Tellicherry peppercorns you spoke of. As an admitted pepper enthusiast this made my day. Thanks!

“After extasy, laundry” has been written on a post-it on my computer since the first time you said it. 😉
