Very interesting. I read a lot of ebooks and audiobooks from the library. The library in my county doesn’t have nearly as many as another county which is up by a big university. That county charges $125 a year for a card to out-of-county patrons. It is well worth the money, believe me. I very often find a book I’m looking for there. They have waiting lists just like for the paper books and give me 21 days to read. I haven’t noticed if any books are Indie-published. I imagine they are not, because I’ll usually buy a book if I see it is around the $5 mark. I did not realize they had to pay $2 per loan. I had guessed more like $1. That does seem pretty steep to me, but it makes sense when I consider the price these publishers ask for ebooks in general.
Nathan,
I found you on podia books a decade ago and have had great reads in your stories. I started reading science fiction in grade school Andrea Norton’s, Asimov, Weber, Pouland and Fifty others. I have enjoyed your style and when I find another Scifier, I tell them where to find you. E books, I think are the future and I could care less about a few typos or left out words the mind adds them in.
I read some of the broad brush in the toehold section and looks like you are creating a great fiction line. Keep up the good work and safe voyage.
