I’ve been thinking for several days that you seem more focused than you were before you began the routine around the glucose. Do you suppose that your insulin is becoming more effective and that is having an impact?
I do.
For what it’s worth, I use scent as part of my writing ritual. Specifically, I light a bayberry scented candle. As I understand it, the sense of smell can bypass a lot of our conscious filers and stroke specific memories or emotions associated with that scent. Over the years, I’ve intentionally associated the bayberry scent with writing by having that candle lit when I write, so now the candle doesn’t smell like bayberry. It smells like writing.
My wife is sensitive to scent. Any scent – barring any strong chemical cleaner which doesn’t appear to have any effect. I like this idea and one I’ll think about how I might use.
