Day 158: New Moon

Reversed my path today and talked about Cape Grace and the day ahead. Nothing very interesting today.

Need to get a hand crank coffee grinder just in case. We do not want to be without our coffee. Here is a nice one.

    1) Light pollution – A small laser pointer can often be used to convince the daylight sensor that the sun is up, giving you a few minutes of darkness. Probably take some experimenting, but I know a number of people who do it fairlyi regularly.

    2) Good grade binoculars can actually be easier to use, even if you lose some light gathering (and you don’t lose that much with a pair of 10x50s) due to the wider field of view and more natural sense of aiming. They’re great for lunar observation, charting the orbits of the Galilean moons of Jupiter, and larger more diffuse targets like Andromeda and comets.

A pellet gun would give you a few days before the city got around to replacing the photocell. LOL Might get in a little trouble doing that though.

    Hello,

I completely understand the problem of falling asleep at at the keyboard, medication can be a bummer that way (or just being still for long periods of time). I have found a funny way to solve that problem. I use an exercise ball as a seat instead of my office chair (which is entirely too comfy). Here is an example of one being used: http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B000FH2W54/ref=cm_ciu_pdp_images_0?ie=UTF8&index=0 This is also good for the circulation btw

Anyway, there is my two-cents worth of perhaps useless knowledge … oh, one more, you can chop coffee beans with a chef’s knife (yes, desperation is a good motivation for inventive methods to obtain a goal), but first smash them like you would a clove of garlic then chop using a rhythmic rocking motion of the knife, gathering the coffee bits every so often in a pile, proceed chopping until you have a nice consistency … if you need a finer grind, a mortar and pestle would do the trick (or a hammer and a clean Tea towel, LOL). I would chew the beans if I had no other choice, heehee. I love coffee. 🙂

May you always remember the thrill of being swept away by a really good book.
May the words you’re typing on the page be as worthy as the words running through your mind.
May your deadline be behind you.
May a good story lie ahead of you.
    And as we go forth
May you always enjoy the journey to finding those two perfect words:
    The End.

Pretty good thoughts she has up there.

    peace,
    LTW
