Day 1673: Cold!

Lovely, comfortable cold. I shivered when I started. It felt glorious.

One Response to Day 1673: Cold!

  1. I finally got around to listening to your podcasts – and thus listened to a whole bunch of them at once while I was cleaning house. 🙂 I get it now.

Also, I accordingly lost track of the posts where you talked about increasing word count, but I totally agree with your take. I can sustain 3-3.5K/day pretty well. My best day was nearly 11K and I paid for it in rebound. All of that advice on pre-writing falls flat for me, too. If I’m going to pre-write, I might as well write. All in all, however, with my process I don’t have to spend a lot of time on revision. A week, *maybe* two for the first book in a new world. I turn out a pretty clean story at my ideal speed. Could I “type faster”? Sure! But storytelling is a lot more than being a monkey with a keyboard. Like with you, it’s not my typing speed that’s the limiting reagent. The story comes to me as I type – and it comes at its own speed – and that works for me.
