Day 193: Economics

Long talk this morning. Kinda drizzly and I talked about the economics of the state too much. Some days are like that.

Today’s file is 35 minutes. I’m a bit long winded.

The RSS feed works great for me as it is. I may be on an island by myself but the iphone is so locked into itunes that it is next to useless to linux users in terms of what the media functions are supposed to do. The Kindle app for iphone is limited to reading only. You can not buy a book from Amazon from with in the app. The Kindle App on the Android is much better and full service. On an Android phone the recording you do on tommw would be done in mp3 format directly. My nephew has an iphone and I have a Samsung Captivate. I was helping him put the Kindle app on his phone and was shocked to find out it was so limited. Made me glad I did not purchase one. Just food for thought.

“I used to live in Maine but I got a job and they made me live”

Not “funny” funny, but it did make me smile. Over in the Idaho panhandle/Montana area, we used to call it “minimum wage with a view.”

I have tried to link my bluetooth to my iphone to record notes similar to your recording, can’t be done to Iphone 3gs without jailbreaking or purchasing a non approved App. Iphone will only record with the built in microphone or wired earbud mic. Unless your other listeners have found another method of blue tooth recording with the Iphone I think you will be disappointed. Or do you plan to stay wired to the iphone with earbud and mic?

My step-father was a college professor. He was long-winded and repeated himself often, but he was always a joy to speak with. I will miss him! Don’t apologize for being long-winded in your podcast–it’s kind of like listening to your Morning Pages. Ever done The Artist’s Way? It’s a great program for the creatively constipated, and I used to teach journaling classes based on some of it’s techniques. (I would say “loosely” based, but that pun should be illegal following the previous sentence.) Anyway, my point is, you’re talking to clear out the headspace and mentally organize–I get that. When I was podcasting Allergy News, even when I had a script in front of me, I tended to ramble. Oh, well. Those who love us love us well. Those who don’t can go to…iTunes and look up another podcast.
