Day 1931: Chilly Fingers

Talked about a new project, laid out my plans for the coming year some more.

The tail end is a bit broken up. Some salesman called as I was walking up the drive.

#tommw 46F mostly cloudy. Calm

I’m definitely a Bosch fan. Season 6 will probably be around April 2020. Have you read the books? Oh, trad pub… You grew up on trad pub, you know. Can you peek at library books? I’ve read them all and mostly by audiobook from the library (e-library). I’m loving the Welliver narrations! Is watching the videos actually eating fruit of the poisoned tree? 😉

I, too, am a Bosch fan, but I have been listening to the Micheal Connelly books. I can check them out from our library and don’t have to buy them. Thank you for introducing me to this and its related series.

  3. You talk about multi-tasking, and I actually think this might work for you. I know when I was writing full time, I would work on the research and writing for a chapter in the first part of the day, but when the brain was getting a bit fried at that, I’d work on reviewing the tech and copy edits from previous chapters. It was a different part of the brain, and required different (and less intense) focus, and allowed me to keep to a far tighter schedule than I would have been able to if I did things serially. So, by all means, give it a try. It doesn’t work for everyone — you need what I think of as a system admin’s brain, not a DBA’s brain. But if you can do it, I think it will help with both schedule and burnout.
