My vote (like I have one) for your next book is the first book in the next adventure of Ishmael Horatio Wang.
No you should not change the cover of Ravenwood I like it a lot. The only thing that would make it better might be some wagon wheel ruts in the road to be a little more realistic but very good as is.
It’s really great to see you making such awesome progress after following you struggle so much with Cape Crace. Your thoughts on what the second book might be are interesting. Have you always planned to make a Odin’s Outpost novel or were you planning on continuing with short stories (I don’t recall you ever mentioning a novel)?
You have a lot of options to choose from and, no offense intended, it seems a little silly to start something entirely new when you already have so many books that your fans are already waiting for. At least, that’s how a think a lot of people would view the situation. I can see where you would want to wait on Ravenwood 3. If you rush the series you could probably leave something out and regret it later. And I can see where going back to Cape Grace might not be appealing. Who would want to risk going back to that speed when they’re on a roll? I can even see where another Ishmael novel might not appeal since from everything I have read and listened to it seems as though you have only vague ideas on where you want that story to go.
I think when you have the time a new cover for RW is a good idea. The current cover is nice and I also think it undersells the book. A good cover features someone or something that is at the heart of the story. Readers look at covers and connect to the heart of the story. The Share books have the ship which depict the special world and story you created. Without Tanyth, Ravenwood or some specific element of the world / story the cover is benign / ambiguous -the opposite of your very well defined and potent tale. That’s just my opinion.
Hi Nathan,
I was thinking just before you said Steampunk. That I want to here more of your take on the African adventure story and after that wonderful tale in Pip and Tees Ministry stories. I would like to suggest that you consider taking the airship to the Dark Continent with an adventure story in Steampunk…

How about a Young Adult Sci-Fi novel? You could set it in a world you’ve already created. Could also have a link to a character we know. It would be something different!

That’s possible, but I really don’t know YA.
When I *was* a YA it was all to sanitized to be real (or even interesting). I read “real” books so I don’t know that market segment at all.
