Day 258: Lunar Eclipse Edition

I almost waited too long this morning, but got out in time to see the eclipse reach near peak before it disappeared into the haze of the western horizon. I talked about that this morning.

    I’m sure you’ve looked it up by now – but no, there is not an eclipse every full moon. Most of the time, the shadow either passes over or under the Earth.

    While your compatriot astronomers on the sea were using the stars to navigate, the astronomers on land were using the cycles to maintain power 🙁
