It’s the Holidays, Sar – a time when one can expect to be distracted because he’s enjoying time with his family & friends!

    Welcome back! 🙂

Well, as much as it pains me to say, it probably makes more economic sense to get the Tanyth stories out before finishing Cape Grace. Sigh. 😉

    • Tara Li says:

Maybe – I’m not so sure.

On the one hand, getting out all three of the Tanyth stories would be great – it’s a new series, in a new genre, which means a lot of new readers, including some who will be primarily fantasy readers, but willing to cross-over to sci-fi for a great author.

On the other hand, South Coast is *THERE* – it needs a little touch-up, and reformatting, and then the trigger can be pulled on it almost immediately – he can have that out and on Amazon in two weeks or so – in time for the tail-end of After Christmas loading of the Kindles, and it’s introduction bumps not just it – but also the Share books that are out, since they relate. That’s a more immediate jump, and gives him more time to finish sorting the Tanyth stories, and working out the kinks in South Coast. I’m hoping, down the road, there might even be more Shaman Tales coming.

Dr. Lowell mentions doing the classical four elements for a tetrology of Tanyth stories – which is reasonable, as Tanyth does seem more the pagan tradition, with just a few shamanistic elements entering. However, the Shaman Tales are *quite* a bit more shamanistic, and therefore maybe he might end up doing a pentology following them around the 5 classical chinese elements – wood, water, earth, fire, and metal. (By the way, there’s generally also an accepted fifth element for the classical western set – Aether/Spirit/Void – here’s hoping Dr. Lowell gets caught like Piers Anthony did with the Incarnations of Immortality, where he kept having to write just one more book…)

I’m with Tara. South Coast could be making money a lot faster than Ravenwood 2. Getting another book out there and done will probably make you feel good, too.
