Day 2727: Happy Valentine’s Day

To those who celebrate. A slow meander around the neighborhood this morning before I got sucked into another rabbit hole and lost the day. These early walks are just so much more satisfying, if only because it leaves the rest of the day for chasing rabbits — ah, for working. Yes, that’s it. Working.

I talked about the usual suspects and looking for a trading game. Finished up the Glyphwrights series (so far) and will be looking for something else.

One Response to Day 2727: Happy Valentine’s Day

  1. ROBERT EVANS says:

Listen to the song “The Fiddler of Dooney” by Sean Doyle on YouTube. The lyrics are by the poet William Butler Yeats, and the fiddler on the song is Liz Carroll. This was from Doyle’s only album, “The Light and the Half Light,” produced by his son, Celtic guitarist John Doyle. Sean Doyle was a policeman in Dublin for his entire life, and sang in pubs in his off hours. I listen to “The Fiddler of Dooney” very rarely, and it brings me to tears every time I play it.

There is a fine internet Celtic channel called Thistle Radio that is free to listen to, it is hosted by Fiona Ritchey, who hosted the long-running Celtic music show “The Thistle and Shamrock” on NPR.
