Nate, I wonder if the results of the competition (and in exactly what ways the projects were judged and the reasons the prizes were awarded) are presented so lucidly to the ones who could really benefit from it – namely, the students in the local schools.
We have some neat kids around here, too. Science
Fair is in March. I forget which day. My hubby is judging this year, but I am not—yet. I am usually in reserve to fill in for the ones who are scheduled but cancel at the last minute. Just a few questions for you. Did all those kids want to be there? I have judged science fairs and they are fun, but it was obvious that often it was an assignment by the teachers, probably for a good portion of their grade, and some did great and some it was painful. I remember the shy little girl, smaller than her classmates, that we had to lean in to hear her at all and if we had interrupted to ask her to talk louder, she would have obviously decompensated right there. She actually wrung her hands the whole time. Project wasn’t bad. There was also the “mainstreamed” young lady that we complimented on her project. She showed up and presented. We were proud of her and she did not need another failure. I think it is probably good for these kids to have to do this, but I am not sure. Out of my area of expertise and we draw from some tiny little schools, even a few one rooms. Not all are consolidated yet. Too much empty space. However, what is your opinion on this? Is it ego boosting or ego blasting?
Looks like Ravenwood is staying up in sales rank. Would have loved to hear about that! Did you wear the new boots to the science fair?
Also finally finished Owner’s Share again last night. Those last 3 episodes are the best of the book. Actually, I think they are so good that they make the rest of the book look bad. During most of Owner’s Share Ishmael seems extra-characteristically (even more dumb than normal, if that isn’t a word!) stupid. He has his “d’oh!” moments in all of the novels, but it just takes him way too long to act on them this time around.

Different category – but yeah, it’s doing nicely. However, I find it funny that it’s in Fantasy/Historical, as it’s not historical, really.
I read ravenwod but could this be the past for southcoast
Not really. South Coast is roughly our future. Besides, the maps don’t match – which is why Ravenwood is not Terran history.
