Does the airline you are going to fly with charge for checking bags? Many do these days. Often something like $25/bag each way, so if your airline charges for your first checked bag and if the lap desk is the only thing pushing you over the top from a roll-aboard to a checked piece of luggage, you could consider drop-shipping a lap desk too. 🙂 A quick search for “lap desk” on Amazon and then checking the “Prime Eligible” box on the left yields lots for in the region of $20.
Of course, if your airline isn’t going to charge you for checking a bag this is irrelevant. 🙂
Hi Nathan,
I think you’ve inspired John Scalzi! He has a book coming out in June called “Redshirts”. It’s about what happens when the redshirts begin to notice what’s going on, and “avoiding at all costs” being assigned to the Away Team!

Nate, really fine to hear that you are gettin’ down to some writing. That is sure to be a tonic for spirit and soul. Thumbs up for you, sir!
Hear, hear!
