I got the story draft done this morning. After this, it’s all polish.

  1. Congratulations on finishing the first draft of the story! 🙂

That is great news about that ‘burst of writing’ success, Nate.

  3. StephenK says:

Great to hear you got the story down. Life is good 🙂

And yippee, my book is on its way! That dispatched email had been taunting me since late Feb. I shall prepare a special place on the shelf for this one. Perhaps I need a shelf just for your books…

On an unrelated note, you mentioned a couple of books in previous episodes that you had been discussing with your students. Do you have a couple of favorites on learning and technology?

    Thanks, Sar!

*wrings hands together with an evil cackle* Now, the rest of Tanyth’s adventures will rear their heads – and then along will come Cape Grace (unfortunately insisting that it gets restarted from the beginning, but it’ll just be sooo insistent) and then a new Ish trilogy, and a book for Pip, and maybe a new series completely, and before you know it, you have 8 books out this year…

Oh! And I finally remembered what the texture of your Trader’s Tale stories reminded me of – the People stories, by Zenna Henderson! Conflicts, yes – but conflicts of healing, not of conquest or elimination. Honestly – that’s been bothering me for a while now!

I love that first paragraph! It’s good to know I’m not the only one who thinks like that! And thanks for the book info; I’m looking forward to reading her stories.

      • Tara Li says:

Your best bet is to look for Ingathering: The Book of the People, which is a complete collection of all of the existing People material. Those of us who grew up with them might sentimentally sigh for the two separate paperbacks that contain most of the stories – but really, you’re better off going for the full set.

  5. Chong Go says:

    Wow, 8,000 words – that’s almost a full Lowell! 😉
Will this be something we can read? (Did you say this was part of a RPG?)
