An office sounds like a great idea!
I am with you Tony. Some people just can’t work at home. There are just to many distractions they can’t resist. My wife is one of them. She tried several times and failed everytime.
There’s days it works for me (indeed, the office can provide far more distractions sometimes [a cubicle hazard], so sometimes working from home is much more productive), and other days I know I’d better go in to the office!
An office just for me, though, would probably be better in all cases.
The advantage of a coffee shop is no monthly rent. The disadvantages include needing to pack up your computer to go to the bathroom, needing to spend money on coffee to justify your spot, more noise/distractions, etc.
