Day 416: Fires Still Burnin’

There was the distinct smell of smoke this morning. Nothing adding to the haze, but definitely smoky. And new fires are breaking out. Not going to be a good season in the High Country.

“New fires are breaking out” – this has long been one of my concerns with terrorism. In the High Plains, all it would take is 8 matchbooks, and no matter which way the wind blows… *sighs*

Perhaps start a routine of body weight squats and maybe pushups? There are some tracking apps you can get. Start with a small number and work your way up. Very rewarding 🙂

Evac notices for parts of Boulder are going out from the Flagstaff? fire. Please, please, let it all stay away from you!

    • Nathan says:

Boulder is 45 miles WSW of here. Ft Collins (High Park Fire) is 55 miles WNW. The Colorado Springs fire is over 100 miles away (for which I am truly grateful).

Now, as long as we don’t get a brush fire on this side of I-25 (the main north-south highway) we *should* be okay.

Thanks for the geography pointers – it can be hard to judge distances on GoogleMaps, sometimes.

    Kinda random/OT

    Nate, Tara Li,

do either of you know if Louisville is in the Boulder area evacs? My wife’s cousin and his family live there and they are probably back from the funeral by now. (I’ve been off net mostly the last few days for the same reason)
