Just work on Zypheria’s Call 9 to noon weather it be writing or working the new character into the story. The goal is to get the story out and your time to work on it is 9 to noon so stick to it.
Now I am going to make a fool out of myself. I think you should just keep writing new words until they board the ship. To me there would be more interaction in the town than onboard, and the new character would be easier to work into the shipboard portion. Now that comes from someone who has a hard time writing anything so please consider the source.

You are into Tanyth, so I think you should stick with that neato lady ’til her story is told, at least through Gertie. Whether you use old words, new words or splicing old and new or editing doesn’t matter as long as Tanyth doesn’t look at you and say “what are you doing to me?” If she is happy with you, then you must be doing it right. Since she is on your plate, I would take my writing time to get her taken care of, up to and including book 3. This is a completely selfish view, natch. I want to know what happens next. I just finished re reading RAVENWOOD so I am ready for her to continue on her quest. Then you can decide who needs your attention next, knowing that Tanyth is good—–for now. She may have more to say later, too, like Ishmael. Sounds like fun times ahead for you. I am trying to give moral support for you here. Hope it works!

I think that writing time should include editing. Recording, doing promotion and so on, are not writing, but to me, editing is writing. I think that even working on edits from Ridan for a book that is going into print would also fit into writing time. By writing, I mean stuff for your books. I would not include a short story for someone else’s book or audio. So what is the problem with working on an aspect of the new book during the 9-12 slot even if it is not “new” words?

Thanks for the shout out to the Shrinking Man Project. I wouldn’t call it a walking podcast, but we do practice walking advocacy. Gotta keep moving.

Have a good one, and stay away from those fires.

I’ve always liked oatmeal. After reading Ravenwood I started wanting to try steel cut. Now my favorite breakfast is steel cut oats cooked much like you mentioned today. I usually do a big batch once a week and just portion into pint jars that I stick in the fridge. It makes it easy as can be to pop one in the microwave in the morning.

I’ve also been using Endomondo since March. That’s when I traded my old dumb phone for an nice Android. A couple of months ago I also added tracking my calories with the My Fitness Pal app. I’m down 25 pounds so far. My phone is a great fitness motivator.

Thanks for a good talk today. I can’t wait to hear the trouble Tanith gets into next.

    –Dan
