   Bonus material! Heh! 🙂 That was amusing.

   So, you pondered the question of whether to release the paper/e-book versions on August 1st or whether to wait for the podiobook to be releasable so they could all be released together.

   I’ll buy the e-book, but I’m most looking forward to your reading of it. 🙂

   That said, though… You really should only delay the paper/e-book versions if you will gain something from it (e.g. if reading it all out loud will let you improve the text form before hitting the button to release it).

   I can see not wanting to switch over to an “if you want my book, you’ll have to buy it or wait a long time for me to release it free!” system. That is certainly different philosophically from offering free and non-free options together (not bad/wrong, but different).

   There’s a huge difference, though, between an artificially imposed wait time to try and push sales … and a short delay because you just haven’t managed to finish production yet. Nobody could ever (in my opinion) fault you for that. You’re not denying people a finished product. You’re just choosing whether to let people have some forms earlier, if they want.

   I think you should absolutely release the text formats for sale on August 1st. Do what you wanted to do. Don’t be held back by self-imposed rules that don’t help you!

   P.S. Regarding Lughnasadh … as an Irishman I think I should probably point out that it’s not actually pronounced lug-NA-sa. It’s pronounced LOO-na-sa (or perhaps even closer to LOO-nuh-suh, since they’re very short a sounds). 🙂

   It and the Irish word for August (the whole month, not a holiday at the start thereof), Lúnasa are homophones, and I assume one is derived from the other.

   Actually, if Wikipedia is to be believed they’re the same word, and are differentiated by whether you preface Lúnasa with “Day” (Lá) or “Month” (Mí). Since Lá Lúnasa is not a commonly celebrated holiday these days, there’s no need to specify Mí when talking about the month. The Wikipedia page also has a pronunciation guide that is more formal than my attempts to explain the pronunciation.

       Irish pronunciation is strange to those who didn’t grow up learning the language. 🙂 What with ‘bh’ making a ‘v’ sound and ‘dh’ making a ‘g’ sound and so on.

       Of course, most of us who grew up learning it nonetheless don’t actually know how to speak it, since it’s taught like a dead language (e.g. latin). Years and years of it, and can’t have a conversation! Ah, education (hah).
