Nate, It sounds like you have woken up to the hard fact of the rather slim financial return relative to the time input. Good thing, that. So why not build on that momentum? Take the time to construct (or have built) a proper recording booth = sound-proof insulation on all four walls, floor and ceiling. Then you won’t have to declare such an inordinate number of non-recording days due to wife, kids, dogs, lawn sprinklers, late hours or what have you. It would pay for itself in short order. 😉
