A couple of years ago I was walking my dog along a road in the country late at night, on a very clear, VERY brightly moon-lit night. The moon was bright enough to throw distinct shadows in front of me as I walked. I was very startled by a large black shadow that passed right over me. I looked up and could see a large bird–an owl, I guess, who had swooped down as he passed over. It was completely silent as it moved through the air. It was rather eerie and very impressive.
It’s kinda cool that you began telling stories from your childhood just as I was thinking about your lovely Maine accent. ^o^ Most of the time it doesn’t register with me, but every now and then it pops on your vowels.
