Now that you mention it, it’s hard to believe I’ve listened to 500 of these. That would be about 166 hours of you talking, not including the audiobooks I’ve listened to.
Congratulations, Nate. I do hope it has helped with your health!
Samsung definitely lost. Fighting on, obviously, but I don’t think they will get anywhere. What they got them on was fairly overt with some minor side issues getting by. Basic copyright losses, however. Big monetary fine but, as I said, they are appealing. However, once all that is over, who knows what will happen. I am interested in the fact that all those android “smart” phones may become useless. If that happens, all of us android users may be in a real world of hurt. At the least, Samsung should have to replace our phones———as if that will ever happen. HUH! iPhone anyone?
If they pay the fine, they are paying for the phones that infringe therefore you keep using your samsung products but no more upgrades, new ones must not infringe. Samsung has won some simple infringing suites against Apple the difference is culture, Samsung has been shown to have a culture of copying Apple but not the reverse.
1) Don’t remember what her birthday is – remember your wife *TELLING* you what it is.
2) Samsung lost the US suit – but there’s some seriously amazing grounds for appeals, including self-contradicting verdicts within the bill returned by the jury. Statements by the head juror suggests that he convinced the rest of the jury to throw out large segments of the instructions to the jury. This is going to get *MESSY* – very messy! And seriously – a patent on rounded corners? And I’ve seen the patent – it’s not hard to look up – and that’s what it is! Rounded corners on a rectangular tablet!
4) About 1000 miles seems right, as your little map (once moved to see the marker where you are) shows you somewhere in the Chicago metroplex (apparently, some kind of wooden park area, in fact…)

Wow! I hadn’t noticed that we were nearing 500. Congrats Nate! Roll on 500 more. Let’s see what’s out there 🙂
