Welcome back. We missed you. Your podcast is a nice break between activities and I had to think of something else to do. Sheesh. (I’m kidding I hope you know). Anyway, glad you had some time off and some peer contact to get your juices flowing.
I have to wonder if Smashwords is simply taking the word of the parameter in the image file with respect to the DPI, or if it’s *actually* calculating the damn thing. I strongly suspect it’s just reading the parameter from the image file – in which case, Gimp lets you adjust that with no problem.
I have a long screed I shan’t bore you with in regards to the idiot who decided to store DPI in a bitmap format – it’s a *BIG* mistake. DPI is determined at output time, by the output device. Otherwise – you end up with Hubble images with a DPI of 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001
