And too you and yours. A happy new year.

Sar, have you considered accepting Our Savior & Version Control, GIT, into your life?
Well, ok, that’s not necessarily the best approach to take, but… There are a number of reports of technical writers using git for version control and management. Just think – you could authorize your more trusted copy editors to make changes on the spot, and easily review them…
Funny you should mention this Tara. When I was listening to the ramble my first thought was version control.
I was going to suggest subversion (SVN) since that is what I’m familiar with workflow for, but while I don’t get GIT I hear it works well too.
svn would allow the copy editors rights just the same.
Nathan, since in the case you are dealing with is marked up text it should work fine, we use SVN for our web development both the application code and the ui templates (which are html)
SVN has a decent diff functionality and I would assume GIT does also.
I can’t comment on the advantages of SVN vs. Git vs. CVS vs. BitKeeper – my only reason for suggesting Git is the Linux KernelDevs use it.
