If you have trouble creating a Linux boot USB thumb drive, try UNetBootin http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ if you haven’t yet.
That’s the one that’s causing the problem, Mainframe. I used the pendrivelinux version and it worked–even the wireless. Now I just need to back up the netbook and rebuild.
Count me in the wanting Sara’s backstory tribe…
