Apparently, the term comes from the German, and is more commonly spelled graupel – at least, the Wikipedia article on graupel matches your description perfectly.
Since the spring of 2013 I’ve gone back and listened to all 700+ episodes of tommw and have FINALLY gotten through them all. I hope there won’t be a test later. 🙂
I came to your website hoping to find out about your future publications, especially follow up books on Ravenwood. You see, I thought it was a cliffhanger story and wanted desperately to find out how it ended. A year and a half ago I downloaded Ravenwood from Podiobooks, but somehow the last episode did not make it to iTunes and I was left with what I saw as a cliffhanger deluxe. When Apple, in their “infinite wisdom”, decided to downgrade err upgrade their music app on my iPad, I went in search of another app to listen to my podiobooks. This new app appears to go to the source and retrieve ALL the episodes. A few months ago I was listening to Ravenwood and THERE WAS ANOTHER EPISODE! There was the rest of the story! I did a little happy dance and am now ready for Zypherias Call and Hermit of Lamas Woods. Thought this might give you a smile.
