I think I must have read the same romance novel you did. Not only was it a cliffhanger, but there were TWO more books in the series to buy to get to “happily ever after”. I read a great deal and I have been leaving myself notes at the end of the book to remind myself whether it is worth reading again, and this one had “don’t bother” in caps.
