Regarding the tales on Medium, it’s an interesting idea, and it’s tempting me. I’m mostly mining, though, and the stories I would find interesting to read and tell are more about shipping. Specifically, buying merchandise at point A and selling it at point B. I have enough working capital now to make a go of it, but I haven’t figured out how to analyze the market (or rather the several markets) to find those opportunities. I suspect I need to spend a few hours with EVE-Central.
But my harsh reality is similar to yours. I don’t really enjoy short fiction, and so I don’t write it. And given that I have an overdue sequel with three or four books in the edit queue after that, I can’t see how expanding my audience base through Medium is the best use of my writing efforts right now.
But still, it looks like writing those stories would be fun.
Hi Dan. I had forgotten your name, but not the first book by you that I read. I saw you have a second one and it sounds good. I very much liked _Ships of My Fathers_. I better get your blog in my RSS reader!
