This morning I started out on my walk after having read some of my one-star reviews. Sigh. I need to stop doing that. I also got into Postman’s Technopoly a little more last night and talked about that this morning.

The sheer coolness of the stuff rattling around in your brain never fails to amaze.
And that is soooo not a bob. Just sayin’.
thanks. I don’t know how cool all this stuff is, but it definitely rattles around in there.
and you’re right — it’s not a bob. closer to a wedge … closer to a crop. It looks really cool on her tho ๐
A one star review because they didn’t like the ending of Owner’s ? Non mais de quel droit ?? !! De quoi je me mรชle ??? (breathe Lulu breathe) Ok humpf that got my maternal instinct out big time. ๐
Indeed. I might one-star Owner’s Share – though likely not, it is well done except for the Article 31 incident (in my opinion). However, I certainly would not one-star any of the earlier books. That’s like beating the tar out of someone because of something their brother did. Just not *right*.
Honestly, I’ll probably avoid reviewing Owner’s Share completely, until the succeeding book is out and I can see how the transition to Ishmael’s new life is done.
Tara Li, I think that was THE ending of Ishmael’s story. I think my last comment was too emotional and I was not clear enough (language barrier and all) : my maternal instinct got out for Nathan, just for Nathan.
I don’t want to start a battle of opinions here but I don’t think we have a right, as listeners or readers, to determine the way a story goes. It is the work of one’s soul : to me, saying you don’t like the ending is like saying you don’t like the entire masterpiece or the author.
I am not even sure Nathan “decided” how this story would end but, to me, the way it did is quite fitting. And, as a reader and listener, I just enjoyed the saga and lived it to the end (laughs, tears and all) having no expectations as how the story should go. I just rolled with it and that made for a profound experience.
And if someone feels the urge to “one-star” Owner’s share, maybe it is because they didn’t really understand what it was really about. Their loss.
