I really didn’t want to take the time this morning, but I made myself walk. I talked about Cape Grace and what I’m doing differently with this book.
Whether it’s better or worse, remains to be seen but at least it’s broken me out of the hole.

Sounds like maybe you’re in a transition time in your writing. That in no way detracts from the quality of your earlier work. It stands as it is and I was happy to hear you at the end with a positive look at the Ishmael story. And never forget the fact that you did this as literally telling the tale (audio) before putting it into print. That is big! It is not only what you wrote, but how you presented it that makes that series stand out. There was a shift with Tanyth, too, and it was wonderful. The current work is another facet of your work and it isn’t surprising that you are seeing a shift. I’m looking forward to seeing it.
