Still Alive

In case you’re wondering…

It’s been a horrible month. Health, weather, brain — all have conspired to keep me home and not walking.

It’s something I need to work on.

Get well soon! Everyone misses your contagious smile in your voice. 🙂

Take all the time you need to get well, Nathan, and know that, when you return, there will be many happy faces waiting to greet you.

Learn wisdom. High publishing demands, by self or others, may be good for alpha type people Remember you are but human and no longer a teenager. Better to keep mental, physical and career health and take a couple of months extra between books and do things right.

Look – Heinlein’s rep rests on about 50 books – you’re already 20% of the way there! *AND* he did it with mostly singleton books, even if he later sort of fixed them up into a single multiverse. You’ve got two well fleshed-out universes already, one of 8 books and a novella and counting, the other of three (and hopefully counting).

Seriously – *HOW* many one-hit wonders are there out in the writing world? Writers who had that incredible first novel, and never managed to get the second stored on the hard drive?

Realize, that like the Sun, while there are much bigger stars out there, you’re still well up into the top 0.001% of writers!

Not anything you can do about the weather, and we prefer well crafted stories to rushed ones.

  5. Dan Thompson says:

Good to hear. I was stopping by to poke at you with a stick to see if you were still breathing.

As for all the bits conspiring, they are still the usual suspects, all of which you have tackled before. That means that at some level you know what to do. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy, just possible.

  6. DLKeur says:

Ok-aaayy. And how are you, now? Doing okay, I hope.

  7. Take care of yourself first. We’ll be waiting. 🙂

That said, you often talk about (or it’s clear from your mood and how you talk about it) how good having written some good words makes you, and how you feel better when you walk, so when you get to the point where you can do it, maybe give it a try.

  8. Jon says:

    Hope your feeling better Nathan!!!
I was listening to your last podcast when you were talking about fans from Europe and I just wanted to say
thanks for brightening up my little part of rainy South Wales

  9. Licet January Gaston says:

    Dear Mr. Lowell,

No advise from this reader just prayers for your well being, physical, emotional and creative.

    Licet
