Day 192: Makin’ Butta

Looks like I’ll get a podcast after all… standby

The weather here is beyond soggy with light rain interspersed with downpours. I don’t have sufficient rain gear to go walking in the rain but when my sister heard I was going to skip a day, she said it would be ok to talk with her. She had her hands up to the wrists in icy water while rinsing the whey out of fresh churned butter. We had a little talk.

Very enjoyable! And educational, too. Thanks.

I really enjoyed that. Reminded me of the old days back when I grew up on a farm in Texas. We had the old crock with a wood plunger you had to set and pound until there was butter. We had a wood mold the made a 1 pound rectangle of butter. I have churned many lbs of butter.

Your sister has a nice sounding voice she would make a good voice actor. You should get her to read a short story for use to enjoy. I am sure you could crank one out in a hour or so. O that would mean you would have write. Sorry, could not help myself.

    That was amusing. 🙂

  4. Ignatz says:

Nate, your sister has a wonderful, dry sense of humor. The two of you put out a good patter. Love it.

  5. Red Tash says:

    Well, I love that photo!

  6. Laith says:

I agree Nate, your sister has a very good speaking voice.
I really enjoyed listening to your conversation while the butter was being dealt with.

It took me a bit but it just hit me that your sister has a very similar vocal tone as eldestdaughter.

Listening to this recording reminded me of Sarah Krug showing Pip and Cookie how to make biscuits properly. Thank you for sharing this.

    And…I couldn’t resist this:

    “You like?
    I like!
    S’okay?
    S’allright!”

  8. Ashley says:

    HAHA! Thank you for this.
