The Blog World and New Media Expo conversation is evolving slowly. There’s a post over on my main site with extensive commentary. Today I start thinking about what I’d want to see in a professional digital media creation and distribution exposition. My first suggestion is “no presentations” – which I only get to at the end of this 20 minute ramble.
I will be very glad when the sun gets up a little higher when I start. These black frames with blurry lights aren’t too impressive.

Listening to this podcast, I think I’ve finally realized why I’ve never really gotten into the Twitter phenomenon.
My exposure to it has primarily been a link someone posts to their feed. I hit it, and there’s this huge list of posts – very short, very sound-bite-ish posts, that are only one half of what I have eventually untangled to figure out are dozens of conversations. Now, eventually (though a lot of time there’s no real visual clue) there’s a link to the specific post that’s being replied to – but there’s really no threading where I can go and see the whole conversation. Perhaps that’s because I’m only using the web interface, and not one of the more specific Twitter clients – but it leaves me wondering what’s going on. And otherwise, it just seems like an e-mail mailing list with oddly strict limits on how much can be posted at one time.
So, maybe you could discuss, one of these days, how presentation of a conversation affects how easily people get involved in it?
I gave it a lick and a promise this morning. I need to revisit this idea – maybe tomorrow because the barriers to communication are an important idea.
Great discussion this morning. I think this is an awesome subject and would warrent much discussion amongst the people on the forefront of this field as well as those of us who are followers/fans. awesome job as usual Nathan.
