Thanks for the kind words!
You know, I never even thought about Ismael as I read this story. I was a bit curious how the time line, and where it fit with the Share series and South Coast, but that was it. The story stands on its own. (And it stands tall! 🙂 )
2358 Double Share
2363 Milk Run
2371 Captain’s Share
I need somebody to make me a spiffy timeline of this universe. 🙂
I have been thinking about the timeline for a while, and I believe I have figured out where all of the books in this universe go. If I get motivated, maybe I will put it together on a chart and send it to you for your review.
I’m rereading Ashes now, and it’s interesting to see how different Natalya is from Ishmael. It’s like they each have their own, different rules for how they approach the world, with Ishmael’s character much more focusing on the small details, and Natalya’s character is somehow more big picture/action focused. I’m not quite sure how you did that, but it’s impressive!
I make some just under a mile bicycle grocery runs. While it’s great fun to ride with a loaf of French bread in the basket (sans beret ridicule) I would caution that heavy items (milk, juice, uranium) in a front basket and perhaps a bag hanging from the handlebars as I often do, tends to be noticeable when leaning even slightly into a turn. It has a surprisingly forceful moment arm from the tire/pavement fulcrum point. Panniers to keep weight low would be a big improvement.
